Transportation Constuction Inspectors

Project Scope

A state transportation agency wanted to prepare the next generation for a career in transportation construction inspection. No legacy training existed, resulting in repeated failure for test takers to receive state certification.

It was determined that elearning would best meet this need as long as it was engaging and gave learners practice in utilizing reference material that would be available during the test.

In addition, the course needed to provide training to various types of inspectors.

Solution

Design and develop six elearning modules that:

Build needed vocabulary and fundamental concepts and skills that enable application related to job expectations as the course develops.

Individually target the various inspector types.

Include online activities and scenarios that familiarized learners with reference material.

Build interest and relevancy based on real world situations inspectors encounter on the job.

Remove the surprise factor for when the learner takes the certification test while at the same time not teaching to the test.

Abide by WCAG standards for government courses.
